Western Massachusetts Wildlife
New England hosts an abundance of wildlife that has the potential to invade your home or property. The most common species you may encounter disrupting your property are squirrels, bats, birds, raccoons, opossum, skunk, snakes, and moles. Other species that are less common but still do cause problems are beaver, weasel, muskrat, fox, and rats. We deal with all of these animals, and if they are invading your home we can help.
Because we deal with both harsh winters and hot summers, the wildlife around us has adapted to living with it too. We remove animals in the attic, animals in the basement, animals in living spaces, and we specialize in sealing entry points so that the animals stay out. We warranty our work so you know you’ll be protected moving forward.

Squirrels
Here in Massachusetts, we deal with three different types of squirrels. Gray squirrels, red squirrels, and flying squirrels. Not sure which one has found its way into your home or business? Schedule a free estimate with us so we can find out who your new visitors are.
Bats
While bats are beneficial to have around the area as they consume large amounts of mosquitoes and other insects, having them inside your home is not ideal. Bats find their way into small spaces in your attic and on your property. Read more about the big and little brown bats of New England.
Raccoons
Raccoons are extremely efficient climbers, and are usually found getting inside attics or climbing down the flu’s of chimneys. If you suspect you have a Raccoon making use of your home or attic, it is best to call us immediately and do not attempt to evict them on your own.
Snakes
Likely the most common snakes seen around homes and businesses in Western Massachusetts are garter snakes (often called garden snakes by mistake). Occasionally you may cross paths with the much smaller ring-neck snake, or larger species such as milk snakes, black racers, eastern rat snake, or northern water snake. All of these species can make their way into your basements, crawl spaces, and even attics.
Birds
All types of Fowl prefer to be out of the weather, and often look to get underneath overhangs, in and around the soffits, and gutters that have gutter guard material. These birds can end up in attic spaces by entering through the soffit, gable vents, ridge vents, chimney structures, exhaust and dryer vents, and faulty flashing around the roof-line.
Opossum/Skunk
Both species (Skunk and Opossum) are nocturnal, and are only seen on occasion in the mornings or evening. This doesn’t mean they won’t be seen during the day, it is just less common and not always a reason for major concern. If you are concerned that the animal may be living under your porch, shed, deck, or foundation, contact us immediately to see how we can solve the problem.
Groundhog
Groundhogs are plump herbivores, known also as woodchucks and whistle-pigs, who are active in the daytime. They are seen most often foraging for vegetation in the early morning and late afternoon, before retreating to their burrows.
Moles
Moles are solitary creatures except during breeding season, so yard damage is typically from no more than a few moles. They do not live in colonies like some others rodents do. Contrary to popular belief, grub killers are not truly effective deterrents, because they do not target earthworms. Click here to read more.
Beaver
Although Beavers do a lot of good for the environment creating habitat, they also cause a lot of damage especially if it is on your property. Beaver removal can be a tricky process so we highly recommend you contact a professional when dealing with Beavers.
Weasel
While this is less common, both the long-tail and short-tail weasel will sometimes enter structures or basements in search of food. Weasels are excellent hunters of small rodents, and are extremely efficient climbers and can get pretty much anywhere they want. Contact us for professional weasel removal.
